ALL the fun of the farm will be available for the public to see on Open Farm Sunday.
Hopes Ash Farm in Hope Mansell, near Ross-on-Wye, and New Cross Farm, Edwyn Ralph, are among those opening up on Sunday along with hundreds of others across the country.
Open Farm Sunday promises a great day out for the whole family and provides a rare opportunity to find out more about how farmers produce food and care for the countryside.
During a visit to Hopes Ash Farm, visitors will be able to meet the dairy cows and see them being milked by robots.
They can also discover many of the farm’s wildlife conservation areas on the farm trail.
There’s also farm machinery to see, cider to taste and activities for children.
Refreshment will be available with proceeds from their sale donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign.
Robert Davies, of Hopes Ash Farm, said: “My family and I are really looking forward to welcoming visitors so people can enjoy a free day out and discover for themselves the story behind their food.”
Meanwhile, James Manning from the New Cross dairy farm, said he will be running lots of activities for children, such as guess the name of our favourite cow and two calves.
Everyone will have the chance to watch the calves being fed and see how the cows are milked.
Entrance to the event is free but proceeds from a barbecue will go towards Acorns Children’s Hospice.
