CONCERTS for Craswall will again be taking part in the Dore Abbey Festival in Abbeydore, with a performance on Saturday, June 23, at 7.30pm.

The Craswall Players will be performing one of Mozart’s best-loved works, the Clarinet Concerto in A major. The soloist, one of Britain’s leading clarinettists Matthew Hunt, is renowned for the vocal quality of his playing and his ability to communicate with audiences. He has performed as guest soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic and the Concertgebouw, and also recorded the solo clarinet music for the films Love Actually and Pride and Prejudice.

The concert will begin with Schumann’s Overture to Genoveva, the only opera he ever wrote. The three trombone players will be coming up from the Royal Welsh School of Music, and the timpanist is a pupil at Hereford Cathedral School.

After the interval the orchestra will play Brahms’s glorious Third Symphony in F major.

Tickets are priced from £10-£20.
