A CHEF is all set to compete in a primetime television competition.
Jon Howe will do his best to withstand the heat of the kitchen on Britain’s Best Dish shown on ITV1.
Mr Howe and his partner Helen Aubrey, originally from Canon Pyon, opened Lumière in Cheltenham in January 2009.
He was also part of the team which opened Castle House Hotel and The Left Bank Village in Hereford before taking his first head chef's position at the Three Crowns in Ullingswick.
Mr Howe, who will compete in the best main course category, said: “The experience was fantastic.
“Filming at the restaurant, as well as in BBC TV centre in the old Top of the Pops studio, was a real eye opener to cooking on TV.
"The pressure was immense but it was great fun and I would jump at the opportunity to do something like this again.”
The programme will be aired on December 13 at 5pm.
The contest is judged by Ed Baines, John Burton Race and Jilly Goolden and presented by Mary Nightingale.
