THE music of Orkney and Ireland is brought to Hereford by Kris Drever and Eamonn Coyne, a matchless duo with each the perfect foil for the other’s prodigious skills.
Kris, from Orkney, is a member of Lau and a solo artist with an impeccable folk pedigree – the son of Ivan Drever of Wolfstone fame. As a teenager he plied his trade in Edinburgh’s clubs, then toured and recorded with many of the brightest and best of the new folk generation, and he takes centre stage with a voice full of resonance and character.
Dublin-based Eamonn’s first solo CD is a work of banjo music and more featuring Éamonn on tenor banjo, mandolin, tenor guitar, six-string guitar and tenor national steel guitar; accompanying him are a host of luminaries of the Irish music scene and beyond.
Kris and Eamonn will be playing at The Nightjar Club at The Courtyard on September 1 at 8pm.
