SENIOR and grand female champion Dieulacresse Laura 22nd was judged supreme champion at the National Horned Show in Tenbury Wells.

Laura, bred by Messrs Spooner from Leek, Staffordshire, is by Lakelodge Storm 2nd and out of Dieulacresse Laura 7th and has had other successes at the Kington, Shropshire County and Great Yorkshire shows.

Laura was shown with her calf at foot, Dieulacresse Laura 34th , who went on to take the reserve junior female championship.

Taking the reserve supreme championship was another female and intermediate female champion Elms School Walnut by Clipston Juggernaut and out of Free Town Petition.

Walnut, aged 21 months, had previously been crowned female champion at the Royal Welsh Show and is reward for the Elms School’s endeavour.

Completing the female championships, in the junior section Gomer Prunella H79 from Mr and Mrs T Amery took the Morris Powell Trophy.

It was a good day for the Amery family as they were jointly awarded together with Lesley Jackson, the George Davies Memorial Trophy for the herd gaining the most points on the day.

The grand male championship went to the senior male champion, 30-monthold Free Town Fortune from R A Bradstock and Partners, Tarrington, Herefordshire.

Fortune, by Border Rory D58, is out of Free Town Adventuress and has picked up major awards this year at the Kington, Shropshire County, Three Counties and Royal Welsh shows.

In the intermediate section the championship went to Church Preen Galileo from A R Owen of Church Stretton, Shropshire.

Galileo, last year’s junior champion, also collected the Badlingham Trophy for the best bull under two years.
