FUN DAY - There is a great deal planned for the week-end of August 27 and 28. August 27 sees a family fun day at Folly Farm, Broome Lane, 12noon-4pm. There will be a bouncy castle, pay bar, barbecue, face painting, bric a brac etc. Contact: Shelley Connop 01544 388148. This is in aid of the Eardisland church appeal.
RIVERSIDE GARDENS AND DUCK RACE - On August 28 the focus will be on the river and its environs. The riverside gardens will be open from 12noon to 5pm (tickets £5 from Arrow Lawn), with teas available from 2.30. Contact Beryl Hoda 015444 388131.
The annual duck races in aid of the village hall, with cash prizes, will start at 2.30 on the Mill stream.
