Police have confirmed that there were no incidents of any serious disorder in Hereford city centre last night.

There were rumours circulating on Facebook and Twitter that there might be trouble in the city in light of what has happened throughout the country during the past week.

A few people tweeted that there was disorcer in Eign Gate and a car had been smashed near Tesco.

However, West Mercia Police reasured people on its own Twitter page, saying that even though they were called to deal with reports of a car windscreen being smashed in Hereford, there was no disorder reported in the city.
