A HAY-ON-WYE pub has been closed down after Police were called out a number of times.
Enterprise Inns voluntarily shut the Wheatsheaf following talks between officers and the licence holder.
Dyfed-Powys Police licencing officer Nicola Davies said it had been done to ensure compliance with the Licensing Act 2003 could be achieved.
“Action was taken by police following incidents of crime and disorder and public nuisance at the premises, and following concerns raised regarding the management,” she said.
“Once the issues raised have been addressed it is envisaged the premises will reopen at a future date under new management following a formal review of the premises licence.”
Enterprise Inns spokesman Vicky Averis confirmed there was no concrete information at this time, but that a review of the pub’s future was underway.
Neighbours with concerns are asked to contact Nicola Davies on 01267 222020.
