SPRING SHOW - The 25th annual spring show was held in the village hall. Twentynine people entered items and the event was very well supported by villagers on the day.
Once again, the Lewis Perpetual Cup for the domestic section was won by 14-year-old Holly Watkins. Cups were presented by Sid Lewis. The best in show for a beautiful cyclamen was won by Dr J Barnes. The highest number of points cup went to Mrs J Bottom who also won the growing plants and floral art cups; craft cup: Mrs Lyn Hanley; cut flower cup: Mrs D Griffiths; photography cup: Mrs K Morris; and the art cup was won by Mrs E Morris. Charlie Morris and Isabel Smith won the children’s section. Organisers hope to see everyone at the autumn show on August 20.

GOOD FRIDAY WORKSHOP - 9.30am-noon, enjoy a workshop for children aged five to 12 in Monkland village hall, followed by a short service in Monkland Church. For details, call 01568 720180.
