SPIDER John Koerner, one of the greatest folk and blues innovators and a man who influenced Bonnie Raitt, Dylan, Lennon and The Doors, is touring the UK for the first time at the age of 72, a tour that brings him to the Nightjar Club in Hereford on Thursday, September 9.

American folk/country/ blues guitarist, song-crafter, singer, and humorist, Spider John shapes his musical style from a solid foundation of the old blues masters, respect for traditional song and a firm command of his source material, with a built-in cool factor that can be seen in that influence on other artists.

With philosophical, witty originals and wild turns on classical songs, Koerner promises a rollicking good time. As Bonnie said: “They just don’t make anybody like John anymore…They broke the mould.”

Spider John will be joined by his long-time friend, fiddler Chip Smith, and they’re at the Nightjar Club in Hereford’s Courtyard Studio Theatre on Thursday, September 9, at 8pm. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555.
