THERE have been celebrations in the south and east of the county after the title battles in the lower divisions of the Hereford Times Herefordshire League were decided.

Colwall have clinched the Division 1 title, completing an excellent season for the side which had already seen them carry off the HFL and HFA Junior Cups.

Colwall rounded off their programme with a 7-1 win at third-placed Bringsty while Bartestree were runners-up in Division 1, four points behind the champions, winding up their fixtures with a 3-2 win over Orcop.

Defeat for Ross Town Reserves in Division 2 by second-placed Holme Lacy could not take the gloss off the season for the South Herefordshire side who took the title by 10 points.

Andrew Trotman finished with an impressive 30 goals for Ross.

In Division 3, Fownhope Reserves are the champions with Lads Club Colts in runners-up position, six points behind.

Marden and Vaga face a winner-takes-all clash in the Premier Division of the Jewson Herefordshire Sunday League.

Marden trail current leaders Vaga by two points and the sides were due to meet last night (Wednesday) to settle the issue.

Vaga need to gain at least a point to retain the title and add to the club's silverware after Vaga Colts carried off the title in Division 2 South from Taylor Lane.

Carlsberg have taken the Division 1 title by five points from Spinning Dog, while Bar Spirit are the champions in Division 2 South. Bulmers needed to beat the champions in the division's final clash last night to overhaul Kilpeck for second place.

Ninth-placed Wellington were the county's top side in the West Midlands League Premier Division with Bromyard just outside the relegation places which were filled by Herefordshire duo Kington Town and Ledbury Town.
