MILLER Boys finished the Hereford Snooker League on a losing note but still clinched the championship.

They went down 3-2 to Reds when Nathan Cullen won the deciding frame.

The race for runners up spot went to the wire with Police A just edging out Potting Shed M. Police defeated Legionnaires 4-1, Geoff Mayor gaining breaks of 35 and 28 in his win, while Dave Webb won the last to avoid the whitewash.

Potting Shed M lost at home to Conmen, quickly finding themselves 3-0 down before Ross Hood made the score respectable.

Potting Shed A went out on a high with a 5-0 thrashing of Farmers A and last year's champions Potting Shed Z won 3-2 at Farmers B. Tom Cousins had breaks of 42 and 30 and Paul Perkins hit a 69.

Military B lost at home to WTC, whose captain Martin Panniers led by example with a 47 break and Neil Greening had a 53 for the home side.

Railway also finished the season in style with a win at home to Flukey Few, Paul Jones having a 25 break in his win.
