ANDY Ferrell insists Hereford United supremo Graham Turner deserves another crack at Football League management.

The Bulls move within one step of clinching promotion from the Conference if they beat Morecambe in tonight's play-off semi-final second-leg clash at Edgar Street (7.45).

United lost their League status on the final day of the 1996/97 season, two years after former Aston Villa and Wolves boss Turner took charge.

After tasting a lively atmosphere in the first-leg at Christie Park, midfielder Ferrell is desperate to follow Ac-crington Stanley into League Two.

The former Newcastle United youth player also believes Turner warrants a move to a better stage.

"We need to reach the final at Leicester and then win it," said Ferrell. "Those are the sort of clubs we should be playing at.

"Playing in front of big crowds week in, week out would be great for the fans, for us and for the gaffer.

"To be honest, the boss has been here for too many years. He deserves to go up. We deserve to go up after the season we've had."

Meanwhile, winger Nicky Nicolau, who played 10 times for United on loan this season, has been released by Swindon Town.
