THE latest ideas in the management of grass and clover leys will be discussed at a special event next week.

The meeting is on Wednesday, May 17, at Upper Yardo, New Radnor, from 2-5pm and with organic production to the fore, a good turnout is expected.

The event is an opportunity for members of both Herefordshire region organic producers (the West Midlands organic group) and Graig Farm Producers' Group (the UK's leading organic meat marketing group) to get together and discuss the latest in grass clover ley management on one of the region's well-known organic stock farms run by Celia and Roy Jones.

Speaking at the event will be Heather McCulman, from IGER, reporting on the latest in their clover breeding and forage management research programme, and Francis Dunne, of Field Options, seed suppliers who have specialised in organic and legume forage mixtures for many years.

The farm walk and practical ideas offered for organic grass/clover management should prove very interesting.
