A BEWERY that started in the Wye Valley as a one-man band and now employs 18 people, has undertaken a rebranding that it believes will enable its continued expansion.

Wye Valley Brewery, run by father and son Peter and Vernon Amor, started in Canon Pyon 21 years ago before moving to old stables behind the Barrels pub in St Owen Street, Hereford.

Production has grown from 17 barrels a day to 250 and sales are claimed to be 30% up on last year.

This expansion was made possible when the business invested £500,000 three years ago in a move to its state-of-the-art brewery in the former Symond's cider mill at Stoke Lacy.

Wye Valley supplies beers to outlets throughout the Midlands and South Wales and plans to focus on its core brands, Wye Valley Bitter and Butty Bach, as well as special brews such as Dorothy Goodbody.
