FOLLOWING last week's Midlands Three West win over Old Silhillians, Ledbury travelled away to Pershore with several enforced changes due to injury and unavailability.

PERSHORE 36PTS, LEDBURY 10PTS

From the off, Ledbury came under pressure from a very big but not very mobile Pershore pack. The pressure was rewarded after seven minutes with a converted try.

Poor tackling in the midfield cost Ledbury a further try several minutes later.

Ledbury responded with a well-worked try of their own. The Ledbury backs looked dangerous whenever they got the ball but with Pershore continually interrupting the play due to 'injuries', the high tempo game that Ledbury wished to play was not possible.

The second-half saw the Pershore pack take control and the points started to pile up.

This was made all the more easier by the home touch judge who unfortunately failed to spot two foot- in-touch incidents.

Ledbury then had a try disallowed because the referee didn't see the ball grounded, although it appeared that Keith Mcculloch had got it down.

A cheap shot saw Dan Rosen leave the field with a cut eye to be replaced by Ed Ayres, who started the game at hooker but was soon replaced by Stuart Davies.

The game lost all shape with some baffling decisions being made by a referee who seemed to have lost control of the game, allowing punches to be thrown and remain unpunished from both sides.

The game finished in a home win for Pershore 36-10.

Ledbury, who have three league games left, are at home to Old Coventrians next Saturday (March 26) and hope to pull further away from the relegation spots.
