Ledbury Town 4 Pelsall Villa 2
LEDBURY eased their relegation woes with a fine win over West Midlands League Premier Division mid-table visitors Pelsall Villa, but need to produce similar form in the remaining matches to pull clear of the drop zone.
The hosts made a promising start with the outstanding Nicky Welch and Alex Volosanovs posing a constant threat to Pelsall. The pressure paid off and, after a near miss, Welch gave Ledbury a 20th minute lead with a low drive into the corner.
This did not last long and, when Ledbury failed to clear their lines, the visitors took advantage to get back on terms. Ledbury continued to press and Welch bagged a second goal when he finished off a nice move with a crisp finish.
After the break, Ledbury continued to call the tune and went further ahead when Welch set up Volosanovs for the third Ledbury goal. The impressive Welch was a constant menace to Pelsall and he was instrumental in the final home goal when he found skipper Stuart Hall with a precision pass to slide the ball home.
Ledbury sat back and Pelsall made a final flourish with a second, late goal.
