Biddulph Victoria 1 Westfields 1
WESTFIELDS battled hard to ease their relegation woes when they made the long mid-week journey to Stoke and shared the points with in-form Biddulph, who had won their previous three Midland Alliance matches.
Biddulph took a 32nd minute lead when Paul Jones raced through to beat Rory Hollingshead with a low drive as the visitors unsuccessfully appealed for offside.
Three minutes before the break, a determined Westfields levelled when veteran striker Paul Burton crashed the ball home after Wayne Hoskins had headed down a Kevin Jinks free-kick into the box.
Westfields had a great chance to take the lead when a long throw found Burton unmarked at the far post, but the striker's weak shot was comfortably held.
Biddulph mounted a late rally but Westfields defended well to bag what could be a valuable point.
