WHEELCHAIR tennis player Janet McMorran has won the Herefordshire Sports Council Disabled Sports Personality Award and has proved experience can triumph over youth after yet another excellent season.
The Bromyard-based 55-year-old regained the British National title and is still the British number one.
Internationally, her biggest success in 2005 came in doubles competitions when, in partnership with Lucy Shuker from Somerset, she won doubles events at the Sardinia Open and in competitions in Girona, Prague and on the Costa Brava. McMorran and Shuker also qualified for the Doubles Masters event in which the British pair were placed third.
She was recently presented with the British Wheelchair Sports Association's Lifetime Achievement Award.
