APPEAL posters for funds to help the victims of the Earthquake in Pakistan have gone up at Ledbury's Red Cross shop.

The New Street shop collected £3,000 for the Tsunami Appeal earlier this year and manageress Ruth Whittaker is hoping the Ledbury public's deserved reputation for generosity will be evident.

Mrs Whittaker is also calling for donations of clothes, not for the people of Kashmir, but for the Red Cross itself.

Money raised through shop sales directly funds Red Cross workers on location in disaster areas.

Ledbury Rotary Club will fly out a £500 shelter box to Kashmir next week. This will contain a tent and other essentials to keep a family alive. Club president David Houghton said this had been paid for out of club funds.
