An action group has been formed to fight plans for two wind turbines close to Aston Ingham.
More than 100 residents from villages including Gorsley and Kilcot attended a meeting at Gorsley Village Hall, where energy company Green-Amps Ltd, of Marlborough, outlined its proposals.
The company plans to put two 182 feet high turbines on Beavan Hill, near Withymoor Wood. It has offered to fly a balloon to the height of the proposed turbines, to demonstrate the impact on the landscape.
But following the meeting, an action group called Save Our Scenery has been formed, under the chairmanship of protester Jane Bradney.
She said: "The talk from the company did little to answer the residents' very real worries about noise and the visual destruction of an area of outstanding natural beauty.
"We are all very concerned. Many see this as the beginning of a forest of turbines that will march, unchecked, across our countryside."
The action group has already raised its concerns with local MP, Paul Keetch, who said: "I am not against renewable energy but the site has to be appropriate."
