Ledbury U13s produced their best performance of the season to beat Redditch in a highly competitive game at Ross Road ground on Sunday.

LEDBURY U13s 42pts, REDDITCH U13s 17pts

Redditch were physically more imposing, dwarfing the Ledbury pack in the line-out, but discipline and determination in set-pieces saw Ledbury gain good possession.

The first-half saw the teams trading tries, with Ledbury outside-centre Alex Ross scoring two and setting up George Lee, flanker and captain, to score a third.

Determined defence and committed support play from all members of the team enabled Ledbury to match Redditch at the start of the second half. Then superior fitness levels resulted in five further tries - two more for Ross, one for Lee and one each for Will Macaleer and George Lockwood.

This was a team performance for which all the players deserve applause.

New members of all abilities (and ages from six to 17), as well as potential coaches and team managers, are welcome at the Ross Road ground (10.30am on Sundays), or by contacting junior club chairman Peter Church on 01989 566821 .
