TWO young Hereford race aces are battling it out at the top of the Motorcycle Racing Organisation's Superteen competition which comes to a head this weekend with the final round of racing at Brand Hatch.
Luke and Dean Jones currently sit in first and third places in the table after 15 rounds of racing with 16-year-old Luke leading the way, 64 points clear of R Stewart, with 18-year-old Dean a further 47 points back.
With a maximum of 80 points available, the brothers are still hoping for first and second places in the championship. But they are certainly taking nothing for granted as the season's culmination approaches.
The season started back in March and has taken in Croft, Silverstone, Snetterton, Knockhill, Cadwell Park and Pembrey before returning to Brands Hatch for the final showdown.
The brothers, who are in their second season in the competition, have set up their own team with their own workshop at home and a family van and caravan to take them around the country.
"Their main aim is to win the championship," said friend of the family Barry Watkins.
"It's really quite something to see them race against one another - there is no brotherly love out on the course."
