Hereford 47 pts Ledbury 0

HEREFORD turned in a solid team performance to push their injury-hit local rivals further into difficulty at the foot of the Division 3 (West) table.

The Wyesiders quickly got into their stride and Colin Osborne, who took over kicking duties in the absence of injured skipper Jeremy Grisman, landed two penalties.

Shortly afterwards a fine break by Kieran Griffiths gave Alistair McCall the chance to cross in the corner for the afternoon's first try with Osborne adding an excellent conversion.

Another penalty by Osborne then extended the lead still further before Ben Jenkins completed a flowing move by shrugging off the attentions of a number of Ledbury players to power over for his first try.

With Hereford firmly in control and holding a 21-0 advantage at the interval, Ledbury needed a good start to the second period if they were to have any hope of getting back into the match.

But instead, Jenkins rounded off another fine move to cross for his second try of the game, with Osborne again adding the conversion.

Fly-half Tim Harvey then got in on the act with a try before forwards Andy Johnson and Jamie Bullock powered over for further tries following scrums. Osborne converted two of the three to take his personal points tally to 17.

Unfortunately, the end of the game was marred when Sam Walker, on his return from injury, suffered a broken leg in two places 10 minutes from the end.
