Wheelers pair excel in Welsh National climb
TWO Hereford and District Wheelers club riders took part in the Welsh National Hill Climb Championship held at Abergavenny.
After enjoying a very successful club season, Simon Geary produced an exceptional performance to take second place behind Martin Bawden from Royal Air Force CC. Bawden finished in a time of 11 minutes 30.1 seconds with Geary coming in five seconds later.
This was a big improvement for Geary who finished fifth last year.
Second Wheelers member Peter Murrieri finished in sixth position in the veteran category and 13th overall in a time of 13 minutes and 10.2 seconds.
