Kington Town 0 Bromyard Town 0

THIS West Midlands League Premier Division clash between old county rivals failed to produce a goal as both teams struggled to find any rhythm on a surface made difficult by persistent rain.

Player-manager Adriano Girolami and Mark Maunders came off the bench on the hour to lift Kington and immediately combined to produce the best chance of the match. Girolami collected a Maunders pass but slid the ball wide with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Bromyard improved in the latter stages but again they could not finish and were restricted to long-range shooting.

Market Drayton 3 Wellington 0

WELLINGTON manager Wyn Owen had no qualms in praising the performance of West Midlands League Premier Division leaders Market Drayton after they had beaten his visiting team.

Owen said: "They are very well-balanced team who had the majority of possession, created far more chances, and we were thoroughly outplayed."

Drayton took a 20th-minute lead with a hotly disputed goal and a defensive error gifted the home side their second before the break.

A late penalty sealed the win.

Lye Town 0 Kington Town 0

Kington travelled to Lye for a mid-week Premier Division clash and defended doggedly to pick up a useful away point.

Both teams struggled for any cohesion and the match was mostly played in the middle of the park. Lye enjoyed greater possession and territory but were kept at bay by a gritty defence who continually frustrated any home threats.

Ledbury Town 0 Wellington 1

MIDFIELDER Mark Hole showed good awareness as he latched on to a quickly- taken free-kick to grab the decisive goal as the old county rivals battled hard in a closely fought Premier Division mid-week clash.

There was little to chose between the sides until Kenny Styles slipped the ball through for Hole to collect and fire home the winning goal.
