HEREFORDSHIRE'S bid to play a part in the London Olympics and Paralympics in 2012 received an official endorsement yesterday (Wednesday).
Phil Lane, chief executive of the British Paralympics Association, and Richard Callicott, former chief executive of UK Sport, visited the city to address a meeting of councillors and business leaders.
With the excellent facilities due to be available at the Royal National College for the Blind and Herefordshire Riding for the Disabled near Leominster in time for the Games, the county is hoping to be able to play a leading role in one of the smaller countries' preparations.
