Eastnor entertained local rivals Kington on Saturday in the Worcestershire County League division one and defeated them by seven wickets.

Eastnor inserted Kington and opening batsman S Williams dug in deep to score 15 runs. There were further runs from M Powell (10) and R Goodman, top-scoring with 17. Apart from these three, no other batsmen could offer any defence to bowlers Shahid and Adeel, who ripped through Kington side.

Shahid bowled 18 overs and claimed 5-47, Adeel gave fine support with 3-31 from 15 overs before Christian Ferriera claimed a fine run-out off his own bowling. He then clean-bowled Morgan to dismiss Kington for 92 in 35 overs.

In reply, Eastnor were helped by 22 extras. Adeel (8), Arshad (29) and Steve Fortey took Kington apart with a top knock of 31. Veteran Steve Emery stayed cool with 5no to lead Eastnor to victory in only 20 overs.

Eastnor claimed 20 points and Kington one point allowing Brockhampton to replace Kington in second position in the league table.
