Ledbury Town continued their pre-season programme with matches against higher-graded Hellenic premier division sides.

On Saturday they entertained Shortwood United and looked comfortable in a 0-0 draw.

Both sides played some exciting football and with Ledbury boosted by the return of midfielder Stuart Hall, their fluent passing game kept them well in contention, but neither side could break through to score.

Tuffley Rovers were the visitors on Tuesday evening and Ledbury made a fine start when Sean Maynard picked up the ball on the edge of the box and rifled in an unstoppable shot in the fifth minute from an acute angle.

Tuffley came more into the game after the break but when the home defence was breached, Town goalkeeper Paul Maynard coped well.

In the 80th minute, the Tuffley goalkeeper was caught out of position and Jamie Hyde curled the ball into the net from 25 yards to seal the game for Ledbury.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Ledbury Town entertain Gala Wilton, 3pm kick-off, and on Wednesday (August 17) play host to Malvern Rangers, 7.30pm kick-off.
