LEDBURY Magpies travelled to Worcester for the return match against Lions in the Worcester Netball League.

Magpies were without their captain but Niki Brandreth stepped in and won the toss and Cheryl Evans excellently filled in the central position.

The early part of the game was fast and furious with neither side giving their centres away and scoring was alternate which kept the game very tight. By half-time the Magpies had asserted some authority and had pulled away to a 15-12 lead.

During the break Magpies swapped Alison Earp (GA) and Kim Robinson (GS) and Hayley Powell-Tuck (WA) and Liz Farr (WD) in an attempt to unsettle the Lions.

The ploy worked and Magpies won the game 27-20 with Cheryl Evans getting a well deserved player-of-the-match award.
