DAVID BROWN (10): (striker, 2-10-1978, 5'10", 33+13/19) An injury in pre-season last year meant that the former Manchester United trainee took longer than had been expected to establish himself in the side. What was never in doubt, from his appearances as a substitute, was that he knew where the goal was and an extended run in the side showed him capable of being an accomplished all-round player as well as a top strike-partner for the now-departed Steve Guinan. With experience at Hull, Torquay, Chester and Telford behind him, United will hope that this term he can assume the mantle of the club's top striker.
