READY Steady Win's Sportsperson of the Year is 18-year-old Jenny Rogers from Ledbury.
The John Masefield High School pupil received the award and bursary for her outstanding achievements in hockey and her dedication to the sport.
During the past 12 months Jenny was a regular member of the Worcester team in the National League Division 2 and captained Wales Under-18 against Scotland. She was the youngest member of the West Under-21 team to play in the Celtic Cup and then won a gold medal in the European Under-21 Championships. She had also been highly commended, again, at Herefordshire Sports Council 2004 awards.
Jenny was among 13 bursary award winners, but was unable to attend the presentation evening and her father received the award on her behalf.
