Hereford United supporters will have their first opportunity to see the club's new signings when the Bulls open their pre-season programme against Coca-Cola League 1 opponents Bristol City at Edgar Street on Saturday, kick-off 3 pm.

Left-back Alex Jeannin, who was with Exeter City last season, and former Stevenage winger Jon Brady are expected to be on parade, along with central defender Dean Beckwith.

Twenty-one-year-old, 6 foot 3 inch tall Beckwith signed a one-year contract with the Bulls earlier this week.

He graduated through Gillingham's academy but was released at the end of last season.

Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder Stacy Caldicott, released by Grimsby Town after a long spell with the Mariners, could also be in the line-up.

United director of football Graham Turner has also had a number of trialists taking part in training and some are expected to be given opportunities to show what they can do during the match. Turner has had talks with a former League striker and he will also be looking to sign another goalkeeper as back up for Craig Mawson.

Next Wednesday the Bulls will again take on Coca-Cola League opposition in Wrexham, who were a little fortunate to knock them out of the LDV Vans Trophy last season.

Admission prices for the games will be stand and terraces £7, concessions £4.

Former Wolves, Derby County, Port Vale, Bradford City and Portsmouth striker Lee Mills, who spent last season with the Bulls, is likely to hang up his boots.

Mills, who was 35 earlier this month, said: "I don't think I'll be playing again. I get my pension this year and I think I'll probably retire. I was thinking of calling it a day last season. But Hereford at the time were playing good football and I thought I would give it another year."

He added: "There are probably half-a-dozen players at Hereford who should be in the Football League because they have good attitudes and ability. Some are young and too good for the Conference."
