A HEREFORDSHIRE schools watchdog is planning 'parents night' with a difference.
Education officials can be quizzed on any aspect of classroom life at a special meeting later this month.
Carol Clapham, chair of the organisers Hereford/Worcester Education Co-ordinating Group (HWECG), says the event is a 'unique opportunity' for parents to question those behind decisions that directly affect pupils.
She hopes representatives from all 103 schools in the county will be on hand to hear Dr Eddie Oram, Herefordshire's director of education, and his senior staff outline 'visions for the future'.
The audience will then have a chance to put issues of interest to the officers.
"It seems that with the reorganisation and restructuring of how schools are managed, few parents have the opportunity to step outside their own school situation and view education on a wider basis, which is what this meeting is all about," she says.
All the parent governors of county schools have been informed of the meeting, set for the Education Centre, Blackfriars Street, Hereford, at 7pm on Tuesday, May 23.
Any other parent interested in attending can also contact either Carol Clapham on 01432 267433 or Julie Pond on 01432 851642.
