A COUNTY couple have 'done the double' to take two top titles in 2000.
Gordon and Grace Gilbert, from Lower House Farm, Canon Frome, are the chairs of Herefordshire NFU and Herefordshire WI respectively. It is thought to be the first time a husband-and-wife have held both roles.
Gordon's appointment stems from the start of the year. A lifelong NFU member, he has previously served as branch chair for Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye and county chair for Down in Northern Ireland.
Grace's position was confirmed last week when Herefordshire Federation of WIs held its AGM.
She has served as county vice-chair for the past three years and been a WI member for 26.
