CHILDREN from the parishes of Yarpole, Lucton, Bircher and Croft have been invited to a Millennium Picnic at Croft Castle on Saturday .
The main business of the afternoon, however, will be to present each child with a specially commissioned Millennium Mug.
Making the presentation will be Yarpole senior churchwarden and much-respected resident Harley Dance.
The day is part of the long-term efforts by the Yarpole Parish 2000 Group, which has a variety of events and activities planned for the year.
At Croft Castle, after a commemorative group photograph, the picnic-goers will be able to try the newly-launched Croft garden quiz.
