MOCCAS Cricket Club celebrate their 25th anniversary on Sunday with a day of events at the club.

The main focus will be a 35-overs past-versus-present match, starting at 12pm.

A six-a-side youth competition takes place after this game, followed by a barbecue in the evening.

n Desmond Haynes, one of the most successful opening batsmen of all time, will be the guest of Hereford Cricket Club for a cricket evening at the Imperial Hotel on July 6.

The ex-West Indies opener befriended the city club when they toured the Caribbean in 1978 and played against Haynes' club Carlton in Barbados.

On a subsequent tour Haynes guested for Hereford.

Tickets for the event, priced at £10, are available from Chadds, Pavilion Sports, Compre-ssors and Washers or from club members Rob Watkins and Norman Davies.

n Herefordshire Recreat-ional Cricket Forum, a section of the Hereford-shire Board formed to help clubs and individuals in the county, have just begun their first season in operation.

n Former Worcestershire batsman Tim Curtis was guest speaker at Bromyard's annual club awards dinner, where the first team accolades for last season were handed out.

This year's first team captain Ashley Bullock won the main batting award, while James Hine, the bowling honours.
