THE Kelowna International Choir from British Colombia, Canada, together with the Hereford Police Choir will give a concert for the Herefordshire Macmillan Nurses Appeal at the beginning of July. The Kelowna Choir, formed in 1985, a mixed choir of 36 voices, the majority of whom are senior citizens, are bound together by their 'enduring love of singing and choral music'.
Performing both secular and sacred music, The Kelowna International Choir has taken on the role of 'Ambassadors of Music'. The choir, champions of British Columbia, has appeared on Canadian national television and featured, for several years, at the 'Cascade of Choirs' and the Christmas light-up for the Tree of Hope.
Supported and complemented by the Hereford Police Choir, the charity concert in Hereford Shirehall on July 1, will be in aid of the Herefordshire Macmillan Appeal, to fund a specialist urology nurse, devoted to the care of support of male patients suffering from prostate and testicular cancers.
Further information and tickets can be obtained from Jon Rayner at the appeal office 01432 378113 or Peter Pocock on 01432 760775.
