HEREFORD Kayak Club took maximum points when they hosted a Midland meeting for the Hasler Trophy and qualified for the finals in Nottingham later this year.
They produced some excellent performances in the race, a marathon event which included nine single divisions and four double categories, with 130 competitors from nine clubs.
Becci Norgate won Division 9, paddling in her first marathon, while Rob King was second in Division 2 and junior member Sam Perridge worked hard for third position in Division 7.
Fellow juniors Ian Perridge and Richard Perkins took fourth and sixth places respectively in Division 4 and Dave Chianti was sixth in Division 6.
In the doubles section, Terry Wilcox and Bryan Tovey stormed to victory in Division 7 by 30 seconds, while Allen Spencer and Jeff Hyde won a close eight-mile Division 5 event.
Mark Edwards and Paul Davies were second in Division 3, ahead of Paul Jones and Ollie Evans in third.
