DANCE groups from across the county are in the last stages of rehearsal for Jigsaw 2000, Herefordshire's integrated dance forum at The Courtyard on June 30 and July 1 which promises to enthral audiences with a dynamic blend of colour and enthusiasm.

Jigsaw has become a premier event for local integrated dance groups, which involve both able-bodied and disabled people, to showcase their skills and commitment.

Audiences came away from the first Jigsaw, in January 1999, excited and moved by seeing such a mix of people performing on a big stage at the same time.

Emotionally involving

"People always say how emotionally involving our performances are," said Michele Holder, the Herefordshire Dance Worker who is putting together Jigsaw 2000. "If you've never seen integrated dance before, I can promise you that you will be amazed by the sheer elegance and physical beauty of the dancers."

This year, for the first time, Jigsaw includes About Face Theatre Company performing it new piece Bird of Tomorrow, and Barrs Court School. In another exciting development, Attitude Dance Company has been working with three disabled dancers for the first time. Trinity School, the Contact Court from Herefordshire College of Arts and Design and ACE Dance Group from Leominster, will also be presenting new pieces specially created for the evening.

Tickets for Jigsaw 2000 are available from The Courtyard box office on 01432 359252.
