Marden stepped up their pursuit of leaders Wellington Nomads in the Hereford Times Hereford and District League with a four-wicket win over struggling Strollers.

Dave Sawkins (4-6) and C Stokes (4-17) were Strollers' main tormentors and R Lerigo's 55 was the only major individual contribution as they slumped to 113 all out.

R Haslam remained unbeaten on 49 and P Leeuwangh hit 32 to propel Marden to their target for the loss of six wickets, a result which left Strollers rooted to the bottom of Division 1.

Wellington Nomads kept their hold on the top spot with a narrow one-wicket win at fellow high-flyers Weobley.

Chasing a lowly Weobley total of 115, Nomads made hard work of the task.

Ewyas Harold climbed off the foot of the table with a win in a closely fought encounter with Bosbury.

Nick Price was Harold's top scorer with 70 as the villagers made 214 all out and, in reply, A Wilson's 80 was not quite sufficient to stop Bosbury from falling painfully short at 212 all out in the last over.

Bosbury 2nd triumphed by 35 runs over Division 2 leaders St Martin's and climbed to second in the table after making 158-9.

They followed this up with a seven-wicket beating of Brockhampton 3rd on Sunday, with a fine all round performance from P Ledbury.

Ledbury took 5-21 as Brockhampton were skittled out for 94 and then carried his bat for 34 in Bosbury's winning score of 95-3.

Herefordians are third and recorded a crushing 101-run victory at Brockhampton 3rd, predominantly through the batting of Ben Mason, who made 89 of his side's 239-8.
