Bromyard stormed back to the top of Division 2 in the Worcestershire County League thanks to two centuries in a 161-run win at home to Cookley.

Opener Ashley Bullock top scored with 130, off just 129 balls, and ex-Herefordshire batsman Jeremy Leighton was close behind with 101 from 132 balls.

Bullock hit 20 fours, including some fine cover drives, in his first ton as club captain before he was removed in the last over of his side's innings.

Leighton, in only his second game of the season for Bromyard, more than made up for a duck in his first match of the year with two sixes and 14 fours within his big-hitting hundred.

Cookley were unable to compete with the duo's batting feats and, despite 24 from A Nicholls and 22 not out for Martin Goode, they were bowled out for 113 in the penultimate over.

Matt Bullock returned economical figures of 3-13 from 10 overs and James Hine weighed in with 2-37.

Roy Wargen claimed 7-31 in 21 overs as Brock-hampton cruised to a nine-wicket victory in their local derby at home to Eastnor.

Wargen destroyed the visitors, who were bowled out for 75, and Owen Hewlett (60 not out) powered Brockhampton to their target inside 18 overs.

County sides had less productive weekends in Division 1, with a losing draw for Luctonians and defeat for Kington.

N Barrett made 79 as Luctonians' hosts Ped-more set the pace with 222-8, backed up by D McDonald (44) and S Mees (40).

Craig Doncon took 3-59, while Karl Pearson claimed 2-25 and went on to star with the bat in Luctonians' reply with an unbeaten 84.

However, Pearson's efforts, aided by Dave Price (23), Mike Scott (10) and Doncon (10), could not propel his side to their target and they finished on 157-8.

Redditch off-spinner Neville Mason proved to be Kington's downfall with figures of 7-69 as the county side were reduced to 148, despite 36 from Craig Millman.

And two early wickets could not stop Luke Wells, who guided Redditch to their goal with 87 not out, helped by C Gibson (40).
