YOUNG county canoeist Jenny Spencer will go into the British Canoe Union Marathon Championships this weekend boosted by a personal best performance in an International Sprint Regatta. Spencer, a junior member of Hereford Kayak Club, was second in the 500m B final with a time of 2 mins 1 sec in the event in Bocum, Germany, representing the Great Britain junior sprint team. The British event in Reading is the final assessment race for Spencer in her efforts to qualify for the World Marathon Championships in Canada in September.
