WOMEN'S INSTITUTE - The June meeting of Norton WI had an air of mystery about it, the speaker being introduced simply as "Fay". Her talk on the Forgotten Aspects of Motherhood, in fact, transported members further back than motherhood, to childhood. With the encouragement of the speaker, members were soon happily recording all their favourite nursery rhymes. She also explained where the origins of the rhymes lay, some of which were political and many others lost in time. An excellent tea was provided by Joyce Stone and Iris Board. The next meeting will be on July 5 at 7pm when Caerwen Maggs will speak on "Jill of All Trades"
