WOMEN'S GROUP --- Madley and District Women's Group had an enjoyable evening when Terence Hutchins entertained the group with poems and anecdotes. Most could identify with his poems, particularly those about the countryside and moving house, and some of his children's and nonsense poems had members laughing. He also talked about renovating a derelict building into a dwelling and brought an example of different woods turned on his machine. This was a good example of someone who had filled his retirement so full that one wonders how he found time to go to work!

TREASURE HUNT - Members braved a drizzly evening recently to take part in a walking treasure hunt in Weobley. Despite the soaking wet paper and running ink, the group wandered round the village from the Unicorn Inn to the church and back. Winners, Barbara Llewellyn-Samuel and Lesley Fleming, scored 38 marks out of 42. Members thanked Margretta Rogers for setting the questions. The next meeting will be another outing to Arrow Cottage Gardens, Weobley, on July 12 at 7pm. Guests are welcome to join members to look round this interesting garden and refreshments afterwards. Those requiring a lift should meet at the parish hall at 7pm. For details of the outing, or membership, call Margretta Rogers on 01981 251592 or Judy Porte on 01981 250561.
