FETE - It was a fun weekend for the Kings Caple Church Fete, held at the church and nearby Tump landmark, with stalls, raffles, games, refreshments and a helicopter ride put up as a prize. The PCC at Kings Caple and organisers were pleased to hear Saturday's takings topped £700. Strawberries and cream teas highlighted Sunday's events at the church. Martin Barnfield was the lucky winner of the helicopter ride and arrangements will be made with the helicopter operator for a convenient day. The Songs of Praise at the climax of the weekend's festivities was also enjoyed in warm sunshine in the churchyard and several people nominated their favourite hymns. Anita Brookes played her portable organ, accompanying the hymn singing, and the Rev. Enoch, back at his duties after hospital treatment and convalescence, officiated at the informal service. The two-day event raised more than £900.
RED CROSS - Muriel Roberts and Angela James announce that in the region of £200 was raised, in aid of Red Cross, from collecting tins and a coffee morning. They thank the helpers and all those who gave so generously and bought items.
PCC - Kings Caple PCC is planning a harvest supper this year at the Old School. About 50 people will be allowed to attend due to the size of the building. Admission will be by ticket, which will be available nearer to the event in September.
