A 39-year-old man has appeared before city magistrates charged with attempted murder.
Andrew Phillip Grubb, of Springfield Avenue, Hereford, was remanded in custody until next Monday.
He is charged with attempting to murder 22-year-old Dale Leslie Rivers, also from Hereford, at Belmont Avenue on July 7.
The victim suffered wounds to his hands, face and a leg during the alleged attack and was treated at Hereford General Hospital.
Investigating officers still wish to hear from an anonymous caller who alerted Police to the initial incident.
Mr Grubb has been remanded in custody and will appear before Hereford magistrates on July 17.
