METROPOLITAN Police has once again turned its attention to a Herefordshire village in the hunt for a woman who has been missing from her home since January.

Detectives from New Scotland Yard were searching the Much Marcle area last week in the hope of finding some clue as to what has happened to 34-year-old Londoner Leza McCormack.

The renewed focus in the county follows on from an earlier investigation in March. Like then, the Met. Police's Major Investigation Pool has returned to the capital. No arrests have been made.

Mother-of-three Mrs McCormack vanished from her home in Finchley on January 28. A 'mystery' car that disappeared from her street at the same time was traced to the village four months ago.

A spade had been found inside the blue Ford Fiesta.

The vehicle had since been 'swapped' by a man who said he was staying with 'an acquaintance' in Much Marcle.

Mrs McCormack had left her home without any of her possessions and her bank account remains unused. She has not contacted her family and is listed as a missing person.
