THE future is bright for Ledbury, which is celebrating the announcement of vital funding worth a total £30,000.

This investment will see the introduction of new ornamental street lighting, new road signs, a town centre community garden and more tourist information points.

Advantage West Midland's rural development programme is the latest to support the market town's enhancement with £14,250.

Funding had earlier been secured from Herefordshire Council, Ledbury Town Council, Chamber of Commerce Training and Enterprise and Ledbury in Bloom.

Town centre manager Carl Jones said: "Although this funding package didn't come together overnight, I think it has certainly been worth the wait. It means we can press ahead with town centre initiatives which will have positive results for Ledbury."

Projects will be started over the next few months and it is hoped that all the ambitions will be realised by early next year.

Ledbury Action Plan brought about the success of funding bids, produced with help by the Ledbury Town Centre Forum.
