YET another defeat for Eastnor in their WCL Division Two game this time at the hands of Worcester Nomads in a low scoring match and by just one wicket, following their nine run defeat last week.

EASTNOR v WORCESTER NOMADS

Put into bat the villagers began well as Stephen Hughes (24) and Nick Bollen (27) progressed to 43 in just 12 overs before Williams had Hughes caught. Sandford fell in the next over and Ferreira and Arshad fell to Williams again 20 runs later. The battling Bollen was Williams' fifth victim at 74 in over 29 when Nick Hitchings (140 and Dean Vicarage (150 then took the total slowly on. Wilks, Rees and a run out saw the home side all out for a modest 123, once again a low score for this division in the 44th over.

Even with their recent defeats the morale in the Eastnor camp has not wained too much, but as Jones (21) and Dixon (28) put on 40 runs in just ten overs it must have wobbled, and thoughts of 'here we go again' were abound.

The introduction of Christian Ferreira into the attack had an immediate effect, with Jones caught by Dean Vicarage, and only 20 more runs followed in the next ten overs as Ferreira and the ever present Jim Sandford bowled well, both claiming batsmen three and four to see the visitors to 69-3.

Dixon continued slowly on and when Kelly fell at 88 a mini collapse - this time not Eastnor - saw the Nomads falter to 102-8 and a tight finish was on the cards. Dixon finally fell to Nick Hitchings amongst this collapse, but Austin (17) led the visitors closer to home. Williams and Wilks finally saw victory for the Nomads in the 36th over by one wicket, Jim Sandford claiming five wickets in his 15 over spell and extras at 31 being the highest score for the away team.
